Finishing has a separate, lower-scope unit context

Why there is no free-form square-foot input
- Bathrooms, kitchenettes, bedrooms, egress openings, stairs, and mechanical rooms add discrete work rather than a smooth area-based increment.
- Waterproofing, mold, foundation repairs, slab changes, ceiling constraints, and access can dominate preparation independently of floor area.
- Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC extensions depend on routes, capacity, equipment, fixtures, and inspections rather than only room size.
- Angi's remodel bands overlap at their boundaries, so selecting or interpolating them automatically would add a rule the publisher did not provide.
- Multiplying both endpoints would create a new range that neither source explicitly published for the arbitrary area.
Use an exact finishing row only when it matches
The basement-finishing calculator offers only Angi's five discrete size rows. If the project area does not match, it returns no numeric result rather than filling the gap with unit-rate math.
